Breaking Up & Being Dumped.
Dating is one of the best parts of life. It gives anybody the opportunity to meet other people and share valuable time together. But to go along with this there are also some downfalls that you must keep in mind. Breaking up with your partner or being dumped is something that goes along with the dating territory. A lucky few people never have to deal with this situation; their first partner is the one that they stay with for the rest of their lives. But for the majority of people, this is one area of dating that they have experienced.
Dealing with breaking up is very hard to do. Even if you do not think that you will care, when push comes to shove losing somebody that you have spent time with can be very difficult.
If you are the person that is breaking up with somebody, the most important thing to keep in mind is that everybody has feelings. In other words, you will want to be compassionate for the other person. Even if you do not want to be with them anymore it does not give you the right to be rude to them. You should simply explain the situation as well as your feelings so that the other person sees where you are coming from. Additionally, if you are breaking up with somebody doing so in person is always the best way to go. Doing it any other way, whether via email or phone, is nothing more than taking the easy way out.
On the other hand, if you are the person that has been dumped it is safe to say that you may have been surprised. This is the way that a lot of break ups happen. If you are on the receiving end you are going to feel a bit of pain and resentment. This is a normal feeling, and one that you should not be ashamed of.
The best way to get over being dumped is by surrounding yourself with people that care about you. Both family and friends can help get you through this rough time and back on your feet. Also, do not feel compelled to jump back into the dating scene before you are ready. If you feel good about getting back out there go for it; but there should never be a rush.
Breaking up and being dumped are bound to happen during your dating life. If you run into either one of these situations, remember that feelings count and there are always other people who you can rely on. The bottom line is that you should not be afraid to date because you are afraid of breaking up! Where is the fun in that?
